Everyone is curious by nature. Everyone likes talking about others and exchanging the newest gossip. But no one likes being spied on. That's why we close the doors when we want to be left alone or choose to telephone with friends when no one is listening.

Increasingly, however, the Internet gives us fewer such places for privacy. Website hosts want to know about your interests; the industry wants to know about your online activities; state agencies and intelligence services want to know as much as possible about the citizens of their country. To protect yourself and your privacy, you must take action.

Internet surfing leaves a plenty of tracks. Every Internet provider knows exactly which websites you visit and when you visited them, while every website identifies your address and what you've looked at on its pages. Remember: Your Internet IP address can be used to locate your real address.

Every time you visit a Web server, you leave behind an IP address. The server logs record which contents were transmitted to this address, which downloads were made to it, and which links were used from it. In addition, websites often receive information about the geographic location of the address.

CyberGhost client software connects you with an online server via a so-called tunnel that transmits all data in encrypted form, currently giving you 100% protection from eavesdroppers. The Internet pages you visit only see the address of our VPN server, not your private IP address. In this way, you are ensured total anonymity. The connection occurs in two steps. First a connection is created using 1024-bit SSL encryption. Then a unique 128-bit AES key is produced through which your data transmission takes place.
