Time, Precious Time
Just a short poem about time I hope you enjoy it.
Time, precious fast and fading time,
We know no other master really,
But yourself playing both the master and the host.
You make yesterday seem so close
You do it, creeping like a Ghost
You only exist within our minds, like it was clay,
molding, molding, molding.
Compressing making small,
The days long gone so easy to recall
Time has written on our wall.
Damn you time, you play and play with all our minds,
Making yesterday seem today
Tomorrow seem so far away
And yet you exist within us all
And there we dare to let you stall
But do we really know you well
Of course you would not dare and tell
Oh one so fleeting as you are, you and we a dying star,
Burned out billions of years before
But still we see the light and wonder so,
We have no voice to make it true, or make it wrong
Oh God ! was it only yesterday
I as youth with time to play
And now I see the days to come
And all of time will soon be done
And you have been my son and father.
I wonder how it shall pass the ages
For poet I am not. I seek just small respect
And all in time be but a speck.
PS….. I hardly ever write poetry, I do not consider myself a poet or at least not very a very god one. This piece however fits in with some of my more recent blogs. And there is something about it I really like or I would not share it here, I hope you find something in it to like as well. I think as time passes we start to investigate the mysteries and fleetingness of time.
Einstein always wanted to ride a lightning bolt, because it was one of his many theories on how to time travel or make time stand still.
