Easter Wallpaper

People use Easter wallpaper in their home, as well as on their computers. This article focuses on the computer desktop aspect of this festive holiday design.

Easter wallpapers for computers wouldn't exist without the development of wallpapers for computers, so let's look at that first. Desktop wallpapers became popular with graphic interfaces such as Windows and Mac OS. But the original GUIs existed a long time before most people would guess they started. Way back in 1975 people at Xerox experimented with a window computer interface called Officetalk. Gray dots were used so users could easily tell what was the inside of the windows, which became the first wallpaper pattern. Lisa and Macintosh, from Apple, used a similar scheme but one that was more solid gray - 50% to the 25% at Xerox. Later, with color monitors, backgrounds switched to simple colors and even simple images.

Modern computers allow much more complex backgrounds such as Easter Wallpaper. Both the desktop background on the Mac and wallpaper on the PC are the same thing. It's a raster image, meaning it's not compressed like a JPG or GIF so that it can stretch to any screen size, although high quality GIF and JPG images can make good wallpapers. Wallpapers come in a lot of different styles, from a single color with a computer name on it used by engineers in rack mount situations, to patterns and themes, and as mentioned even high quality images such as Easter wallpaper.

Enough about the history and wallpapers in general, now onto the subject at hand - Easter wallpaper. As with most image related computer things, one of the best places to search for these is Google. Google returns 472,000 hits for the term Easter wallpaper. One of these is a web site called theHolidaySpot. This web site has a lot of information for each holiday including a large collection of holiday themed wallpaper. As far as Easter wallpaper it has both general spring themes such as bunnies, as well as religious wallpapers depicting Jesus.

For a PC user it's easy to make an image into an Easter wallpaper. For a web image it's a simple matter of a right click, set as background (the wording varies depending on the browser). When the image is somewhere on your computer use a right click on your desktop, properties, desktop, then find the image (it helps if you know where the image is located prior to doing this. It's no more difficult on a Mac. There are even small utilities that let you make any image into a background for individual folders on the PC.
