An overview on how to plan a trip to New York City.

New York City is a wonderful place to visit.  Many people take day trips to Manhattan and some people choose to stay over night at one of the many top of the line hotels located throughout the city.  If you are planning a day trip you may consider organizing a list of activities and places you plan to see.  In addition, you may want to set a budgeted amount of spending money for the trip.  New York City tends to be very expensive but you can sometimes find inexpensive eateries and venders on the street.

Some ideas for places to visit while in New York may be radio city, the Empire state building, Macy’s, Central Park, and Rockefeller Center.  In addition, you may consider a boat ride on the Hudson or a trip to the Statue of Liberty.  A day in the city can become tiring, try to pace you and don’t rush around.   If you tire easily you may consider stopping to rest on one of the many benches in the park or at a bus depot.

If you are not planning to stay over night, remember to have a plan of departure.  New York City traffic can become a real nightmare.  Even if plan to use public transportation, the trains, busses, and subways become quite crowded and rush hour can turn into several hours.  If you do take the train or bus into Manhattan, make sure you inquire about any discounts that may be applied to your round trip ticket.  Sometimes group discounts are available.
