Blogging is a very popular way of making money online and most people who blog don’t do it as a hobby. Blogging to promote your business is a very good way of gaining customers and return visitors so making sure you optimise your blog in the best possible way is important.

Quick Start Strategies
The best way to have a profitable blog is to do your research into a specific
topic and keep your blog relevant. Then, of course, you need to find ways to
make money on your blog, which we touched on earlier.
Probably the quickest way to make money from blogging is by using Google
Adsense. It’s quick and easy to install on your blog and will definitely get you
some money rolling in. A lot of people set up blogs purely for Adsense use
and it can be a very profitable way to make money – it’s easy too.
Adding one or two articles a day to your blog is good enough to get you
started. You’ll also need to write some different articles in order to promote
your blog. Ezine articles are a great place to post articles with a link to your
blog and if it’s a popular topic then you can see hits and clicks almost
straight away. Using your blog to post informaWve content is the best way to
make money.
A great technique that I’ve used before is to set up a blog (with Adsense) and
post a news story each day about what is happening in the world. Using
Yahoo! News or Google Hot Trends is a great way to see what people are
interested in on that specific day.
Write a quick 200‐300 word post about it and make sure it’s informative and
interesWng and then simply wait for the clicks and money to roll in.
It may take some Wme before your blog is extremely popular but you should
be able to see a few hundred hits as you get going. Making money through
Google Adsense is actually pretty easy and once you’re making some money
on one blog you can always set up another and practice the same techniques
until you’re making enough to be happy.
Overall, blogging is a great way to make money and it’s pretty easy to quickly
set up a blog and make some extra cash. You may find you enjoy it as well
and if you have enough blogs running that become popular then you should
be able to make a pretty decent wage. It can be very rewarding earning
money through blogging because it’s not easy work.
It can get a bit boring and frustraWng but once you start seeing results it’s all
worth it. You won’t be disappointed with the rewards from Google Adsense
if you do it properly. Oh, and a word of warning, don’t try to cheat on Google
Adsense – you’ll end up banned and then you’ll have lost your chance at
making a killing online with blogging.

Quick Steps To Success

1) Niche Research
Always blog within a niche that is actually receiving searches. Before you
attempt to start a blog, do your keyword research. See below for tools you
can use for keyword research.
Google Keyword External Tool
Free Word Tracker
Free Keyword Discovery
Good Keywords (SoGware)
MSN Adcenter (must have an adverWser account, then you can use their
keyword research tool)
There is no point to starWng a blog within a niche that is receiving no
searches. I recommend that the niche you choose should be receiving at
least 2000 searches a month, so that you can be assured you’ll receive
enough traffic to generate income.

2) Wordpress Blog InstallaPon
Once you have your niche, then it’s time to setup your blog. I recommend
that you use WordPress. It’s easy to setup. Simply follow the instructions I
outlined earlier, ensuring you select a nice theme and download/install the
plugins  to ensure your blog is properly optimized for the
search engines.

3) Blog Posting
Your blog is installed, now it’s time to write your posts. Ensure that every
post you make is unique and good quality. Have your blog posts be a
minimum of 200 words. You need it to have enough content to rank well in
the search engines. Within your blog post always remember to have a
specific keyword you would like to target.
That keyword should be in your blog title, your meta description, in your
meta keywords tag, and should appear within the body text of the blog post
at least two times.

4) Traffic Generation & Backlinks
At this stage you should be building backlinks to your website.
you`ve must submittedyour sitemap to the following sites:
Google Webmaster Tools
Live Webmaster
Yahoo Site Explorer
That’s the first step. This is to ensure you are well spidered by the search
engines.
Upon writing posts, you should also be submitting your feed URL, which as
mentioned would be http://yourdomian.com/feed/ to the major RSS feed
sites.
Upon completion of submiting your RSS feed to the RSS sites, you should
then proceed to submit your blog to the various blog directories.
Once you’ve completed submiting your blog to the blog directories, the next
step is to submit your blog to social bookmarking sites.

5) Monetization
If you were using the Google Adsense plugin tool, you should already have a
form of monetization for your blog. The other methods such as being paid
for blog posts, CPM offers, and text link ads will all come when your blog is
further established. In the meantime your main source of income can come
from Google Adsense or you can decide to flip your blog based on the work
you’ve done to get the site off the ground.

How To Motivate Yourself
I’ve gone through all that you’ll need to get started but the problem is that it
can be hard to stay motivated and to keep blogging. It can take some time to
start making a profit and therefore the motivation to write every day for
almost nothing can seem like a mountain to climb.
However, you have to keep going otherwise your efforts will be for nothing.
There are many ways that you can stay moWvated to keep blogging and these
include settng targets, gettng into a routine and of course having goals that
you are determined to reach.

Settng Targets
A good rule of thumb to succeed in staying motivated is to set yourself
targets that you have to reach each and every week – this way you don’t
have to work everyday if you don’t want to.
You can set little targets to hit each week and that way you’ll be able to
easily work towards your long‐term goals.
Remember to set realistic targets – allow yourself time off and allow yourself
time to relax without having to stress about working a full time job and
trying to make money blogging.

Get into a routine
Gettng into a routine can really help you stay focused because you will end
up being used to writing a post here and there.
However, don’t make it too serious; try to have fun with it but make it part
of your life. If you work a full time job then why not stay in your work frame
of mind for an hour after work and simply write a few posts on your blog
when you get home and then relax. Or you could do it in the morning before
you go to work.
