How to find Frequent Flyer Programs for your PETS

Bringing your cat or dog on an airplane can be quite expensive. Some airlines have established Frequent Flier Programs for your PETS. Let's take a look at what's out there.

  1. Step 1

    Jet Blue's Jet Paws    http://www.jetblue.com/jetpaws/
    * in-cabin pets charge of $100 each way
    * offers double mileage on their "True Blue" points program when you travel with your pet
    * offers an ebooklet on jetting with your pet which includes a list of pet-friendly places to stay at their most popular destinations.
    * sells travel carriers for your pet

  2. Step 2

    Continental Airlines   http://www.continental.com/web/en-us/content/Travel/animals/default.aspx
    * in-cabin pets charge of $125 each way
    * earn "PetPass" miles for each dollar spent when your pets travel as CARGO - in-cabin pets don't count for PetPass
    * allows customers to track their pet's travel online and a 24-hour staffed animal hotline

  3. Step 3

    Midwest Airlines   http://www.midwestairlines.com/ProgramsAndServices/PetTravel.aspx
    * in-cabin pets charge of $125 each way - and earn one free roundtrip for every three roundtrips (or six one-way trips) they fly.
    * the fee for a pet traveling as cargo is $150 each way, regardless of any connections and do not earn any bonuses

  4. Step 4 save money

    Southwest Airlines is the low-cost winner   http://www.southwest.com/travel_center/animals.html
    * they don't offer frequent flier miles BUT they offer a cheaper rate
    * in-cabin pets charge of $75 each way
    * do not offer a cargo option

  • Check each website for their rules and regulations. You don't want any surprises at the airport!
  • Airlines put limits on the number of pets per flight
