If you are looking for a program that allows you to use a speaking avatar than Alteregos is the product you need. They have different avatar’s to choose from and even more that you can buy and add to the program. The program is very simple to use and quick to create. the cost of the program is $50GBP. It may be a bit expensive but if you have plans to make videos with speaking avatars then it is well worth the price. The lip sync is very well done, almost impossible to tell that it is any different then a regular person talking, and the video is smooth. There is a free demo for you to try with some demo avatars, you have full function ability except to change the background which is marked with AlterEgo, so even the demo may get you by.

First you start out by either copy and pasting the script you are using into the program or writing it directly into the program. Then you go on to do your voice recording of the script, which you can save both the script and the recording incase it is needed later. After that you choose your avatar to use in the video, the background, and any clothing or accessories to be used as well. Once you have finished that step you then move on to Alteregos lip synchronization, which you can watch as this part is performed. After the synchronization is finished you can choose the video output and it creates the video and any other necessary files for you to upload to your blog, internet or other video hosting. Note you may need a video converstion to convert the output, which you can find for free on the net.

The only downfall to the program that i found was that you are only started out with a few characters or avatars to use so you will need to purchase more if they are not ones you can use which will cost around $20.00 US. I would say that the avatars should be much cheaper to purchase especially if you are needing a wide selection. However, other than that i would say this is the perfect program if you need a speaking avatar especially for doing long video.
