Joyce DeWitt, the 60-year-old actress who starred in the 1980's sitcom Three's Company, was arrested in El Segundo, CA on Saturday, July 4, 2009 around 4:30 p.m. for suspicion of DUI.

According to press reports, police officers arrested Joyce DeWitt after she failed to stop at a barricade Saturday afternoon.  The police reported that she smelled like booze and showed signs of intoxication.  The police then gave DeWitt a field sobriety test and she was arrested for suspicion of DUI.

El Segundo Police Sgt. Dean Howard told E! News, "An officer saw DeWitt drive a vehicle past a barricade intended to control vehicular traffic near a park," says Howard. "As the officer spoke with DeWitt, he observed signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication."

The Three's Company star, who played Janet Wood on the 80's sitcom, posted bail for $5,000.

Joyce DeWitt was born on April 23, 1949 in West Virginia.  Her most famous role was that of Janet Wood on the television sitcom Three's Company, along with John Ritter and Suzanne Sommers.  The show aired from 1977 to 1984.  She was a paid endorser for L'eggs hosiery in the late 1970's.  She was such an avid pantyhose wearer, that she even refused to do any scenes with bare legs.  Joyce DeWitt disappeared from Hollywood after the show ended.  She later revealed that this was due to the disrespectful treatment she received while on the set of Three's Company.  In 2003 Joynce DeWitt co-produced and hosted the TV movie Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Three's Company.  Actress Melanie Deanne Moore portrayed her during her time on the Three's Company series.
