The most famous of all stand mixers are the Kitchen Aid Stand Mixers. They come in nifty colors that you can harmonize with your kitchen colors.

That's a plus.

But beside being cute how well do they fair?

I was not impressed. I know I would ask my kitchen stand mixer to work hard. For example, kneading - mixing - bread dough is hard work and I wanted my stand mixer to be able to withstand that sort of abuse.

So the search went on.

I found - by total providence - a Delonghi. Delon...what? You say.

Well that's what I said!

I had never heard of it. So how good could it be?

I have had mine quite some years now and I have put it through a lot of abuse. When most my other kitchen tools have given up the ghost - I am on my third blender and second griddle in the same amount of time - my Delonghi stand mixer is still going strong.

I use mine a lot for all kinds of things:

Pancakes

Mashed potatoes (yep, that's right!)

Pizza dough

And much more.

I am so in love with my Delonghi stand mixer that I said: "when it dies I'll buy another Delonghi!"
