Oregon of Many Splendors

What is your desire to do, see and enjoy? You can read here to see if it is in Oregon.

Oregon has so many activities to enjoy so let's get right to the list and check out if your desire is here. There are numerous activities that can be done nearly all year long in the lovely state of Oregon.

1.  Bird watching is one of them since the birds migrate later than normal because of the tepid climate in some areas. The coast stays lush and green and temperate making the right spot for several bird species to never leave. Bring your binoculars and get ready to have a feast of many flocks.

2.  Surf sailing in another all year around activity done especially at the coastal regions.

3.  Boogie boarding. surf boarding or surfing can be done with a wet suit all year around 

4.  Photographers can certainly have many opportunities to capture wildlife, scenery and more, so bring the lens.

5.  Fishing for halibut and tuna can be done on a small to medium craft to a larger chartered boat.

6.  Whales are common sight especially around April and then again in late Sept. Porpoises, seals and sea lions will be in the same water, just not together for viewing. You can stay on land and look or go out on a boat.

7.  Beachcombing for beach glass, shells and glass balls is a favorite past time for many.

8.  Snow mobiling in the mountains in the winter begins around Thanksgiving and ends in April.

9   Skiing, both down hill and cross country are abundant in Oregon mountains

10. Hiking on any trail from the easy to the most experienced are here for the walking.

11. Camping either by tent, sleeping bag on the ground or RV will have many spots to choose from all year long.

12. Biking with your favorite rig is available with many roadways biker friendly.

13. Mud bogging is a sport all its own, but  done in Oregon, in certain spots all year round.

14  Artistic people that draw, paint and put into words will find subjects galore.

15  Shows and theater productions are available for reasonable fees.

16  Mountain climbing is an extreme sport for the well equipped since weather changes suddenly in Oregon.

17. Mushroom picking is offered by the abundance of them in Oregon.

18. Hang gliding  can be done at the coast or in the gorges inland.

19  Kite flying, of many types is prevalent.

20. Crabbing off a pier, in a boat in the bay or in the ocean in a sea barge can be your choice.

I like reading your articles about Oregon. I am British, but lived in Oregon with my family for a couple of years. It really is a beautiful state isn't it?
