The Royal Gorge Bridge hangs 1,053 feet above the Arkansas River, making it the highest suspension bridge in the world. The Denver and Rio Grande Railroad run under the Royal Gorge Bridge, along the banks of the Royal Gorge, which is a 10-mile canyon with a 50 feet wide base and a depth of 1200 feet.

The Royal Gorge Bridge is 880 feet and18 feet wide. It has a wooden walkway consisting of over 1000 planks. The Colorado Royal Gorge Bridge is suspended from towers that are 150 feet high. In November of 1929, the Royal Gorge Bridge was constructed as a one-lane toll bridge. The bridge is also listed on the Register of National Historic Places. The cost of the bridge was $350,000 the price today to build it would be about $15 million dollars.

Other attractions at the park include a petting zoo, cliff walk, incline railway which takes you to the bottom of the canyon, horseback riding, wildlife park, and aerial tram ride over the bridge! Tickets are $24 for adults and $19 for children (4-11). Senior tickets are $21. Season passes are also available.

The park is open daily from 10:00 am -7:00pm June 13-August 16. You can visit the park's website to get year round hours. If you are vacationing in Colorado this summer this is a must see for you and your family!
