The Panel of Fee Regulatory Committee has spent a great deal of time in the last years to define the fee structure for admission into Engineering/Medicine streams through Eamcet counselling.

The concern for the fee hikes was the ability of parents to meet the fees every year for four years for their daughter/son who may already be having another daughter/son studying in abroad or India. The Fee for engineering or pharmacy colleges used to be about 11000 Rupees in the years of 2001-2002. Immediately after that year there was a momentous decision taken to increase the fee to compensate for the increasing demand for engineering and pharmacy courses to 22000 rupees.

In the later years the fee was increasing steadily from 22000 to 30,200 (the current Fee for Engineering for Pharmacy courses), every year. At the same time the economy was actually doing well in the recent past due to powerful economic development and good stock market trends.

This year the concern to raise the fee was coming due to bad economic conditions in the state education department. It is not only a concern for the state government but also a concern if the Fee were hiked as the recent layoffs in many companies have made many people homeless.

The Admission and Fee Regulatory has waited us for a long time just to tell their decision of hiking the Eamcet 2009 admission fee this year. Finally they decided not to change the fee. As of now this fee stands at 30,200 Rupees for government college seats (or seats through normal admissions) and 91,700 for the private seat allotment (seats for candidates with high ranks can get into private colleges easily).

Counselling Date Notification for Eamcet 2009

Finally the APSCHE (Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education) has decided the counselling date for Eamcet 2009 to be on 25 July 2009. But still before that a lot of procedure has to be followed. Preparing well before the counselling date helps avoid troubles in getting seat allotment, that resulted when online counselling was newly introduced into AIEEE admissions last year.
