Some tips how to recovering lost data for your PC

t see, you didn't backup your data and you lost some important files! Very good... As long as your computer hardware was not physically damaged, there is still chances that you can to recover your lost files with free or very expensive data recovery software. Free data recovery software is a bit harder to get but I've found a few good ones and also the expensive ones.

Two things to remember with data recovery:

First : If your data is very important and critical so you should not play with freeware. There are several good data recovery services out there.

Second : If you want to use the freeware whatever data recovery tool you want to try please remember to use the freeware that DOES NOT NEED INSTALLATION. That's right, the software should run appropriate off floppy, flash or CD. Otherwise, installation of the recovery software will just overwrite your data.

Some helpfull tips :

1. If your drive is reports a CRC read IO error, DO NOT PROCEED. This indicates a hardware failure.

2. As soon as you find your data has been deleted, stop using the computer! The less activity the better way to avoid disk-swap activity.

3. Find and download data recovery software on addition computer.

4. Save the data recovery software to a flash drive and run it from there.

5. Save the extracted data back onto the flash drive for added safety.

NTFS Boot Disk provides access to your NTFS drives in an MS-DOS environment (long filenames are supported). NTFS Reader for DOS will allow you to browse and recover all kinds of deleted files.

File Recovery

Restoration

Restoration is an easy to use and straight forward tool to undelete files that were removed from the recycle bin or directly deleted from within Windows. Upon start, you can scan for all files that may be recovered and also limit the results by entering a search term or extension.
