You might not be aware that you can get stuff free and cheap at CVS using their Extra Bucks Program.

You can get stuff free and cheap at CVS using the Extra Bucks Program.    It started out for us as a way to save money, and now it’s like a weekly game my husband and I play to see how much stuff we can get for almost nothing.  We have made an art form out of it; we study the CVS circular.  Actually, I have it emailed to me in the middle of the night on Saturday night, and I get up and read it around 3:00 AM to see what the deals are this week!

It is so much fun.  And we are using good, name brand products now.  We used to use these sad, off- brand shampoos, conditioners, deodorants, and other health and beauty aids.  I’d try to shave my legs with those cheap men’s disposables and come away with blood running down my calves. No More!  Thanks to CVS Extra bucks.

You need to register for a free CVS Extra Value card to get stuff free and cheap at CVS using the Extra Bucks Program.  Scan it every time you go in there; if you have insurance that will allow it, get your prescriptions there, too.  You get a dollar for each prescription filled, and sometimes bonus bucks.   When you need a two liter of soda, or something, run in CVS  instead of running to the grocery store or convenience market.   You’ll get in and out faster anyway, and you will be earning Extra Bucks that are printed off at the bottom of your receipt once a quarter.  It is MONEY.    You also may get other savings coupons at the bottom of your ticket, too, that can be used in conjunction with other coupons.

Almost every week, CVS offers an item or two that  allow you to actually get stuff free using CVS extra bucks.   This week, there were three!  It will say that it costs, for instance, $1.00, and you get a $1.00 extra buck back!  There may be a limit of 1 or three or whatever.  If you are strapped for cash, you can buy one, get a buck, buy another, get a buck, etc...until you hit the limit. I did that one time with Soy Joy bars and got 20 for four dollars!  They are usually $1.29 each. They were four for four dollars and you got four dollars in extra bucks. There was a limit of five extra buck rewards.  I did it four at a time, five times.

You can do really well on the offers where you have manufacturers’ coupons, too.  And if it is a 2/$5.00 or whatever, you can use two manufacturer’s coupons and then get your bucks back.  Razors and shampoo are two items that are always featuring coupons in
Sunday’s paper, and it is amazing how cheaply I can get things.  If the deal is buy two, and you have a buy one get one free coupon, you can use it!

We use the premise that we take what we get back in  Extra bucks, and then we buy another Extra buck offer, etc…..We usually spend around $9.00 dollars and come out with bags of Expensive, name-brand items; some were free!  Start saving coupons because you never know what the next CVS Extra bucks offers will be.
