Today I'm going to be showing you about the Black Mamba.

The Black Mamba is an elapid snake and is one of Africa's most dangerous snake. The Black Mamba is the fastest land snake on land. It can exceed speeds over 12 MPH. But it uses this speed to escape danger rather than catch a prey. They live a wide variety of areas that include open Savannah's, open woodlands, and rocky outcrops. The Black Mamba is the largest venomous snake in the world and the second largest besides the King Cobra. The Black Mamba is very aggressive and is not hesitated to attack with deadly precision. An average adult Black Mamba will grow to be 2.5 meters but it can grow up to 4.5 meters. The Black Mamba is not dark at all at birth but later on, it becomes darker. The Black Mamba gets its name from its inky black mouth. The Black Mamba are known to shelter themselves in termite mounds, burrows, and hollow trees. Warm-blooded prey, such as squirrels, ground rodents, and other small mammals, are the mamba's main source of food. When hunting small animals, the Black Mamba delivers one or two deadly bites and then backs off waiting for the neurtoxin in its venom to paralyze the prey. Black Mamba are also been said to eat other reptiles and snakes but there is very little documentation to support that theory. After ingestion powerful acids digest the prey, sometimes within 8 to 10 hours. Black mamba venom contains powerful, fast-acting neurotoxins and cardiotoxins, including calciseptine. Over all, the Black Mamba is my favorite animal and snake. I hope you had fun reading this article, I know I had fun writing it. Have a great day!
