Advertising in youtube is FREE and it will be there FOREVER. No time limit and you don’t have to pay monthly for it. Your site will definitely generate traffic from youtube after uploadingyour videos with your URL watermarks. And this is what I’d also like to demonstrate for you to learn putting Watermarks to your Video.

No mater what your business is, you certainly need
advertising to generate more income.
Advertising your site will definitely bring traffic and the more
traffic you get, the more income will be generated. The only
problem is that advertising cost much.

Advertising is the key to success. Buying banner ads to forums
or to any website will work but then definitely the banners have
limited exposure to surfers. Most people today are just surfing
websites which they can edit their own profile like social
networking e.g. myspace, facebook and most especially YOUTUBE.
Imagine how many people are surfing youtube.com and searching
for funny videos, news, politics, new technologies and sports
videos.
Most of us probably have an account in youtube, you probably
have upload your own video there showing you guitar skills or to
voice out opinions to harsh comments you have read or simply
just to make your presence known. Everyone is in youtube. I’m in
youtube too; you can see me there showing my guitar skills.
A lot of companies today are also in youtube, they even upload
their videos there. And even their banned commercials that you
can’t see on TV are present in youtube. Cigarette commercials
are banned in my country and every time I miss seeing horses
running around, I turn to youtube. It’s amazing. You can find
everything in youtube.
Advertising in youtube is FREE and it will be there FOREVER. No
time limit and you don’t have to pay monthly for it. Your site
will definitely generate traffic from youtube after uploading
your videos with your URL watermarks. But of course it should be
interesting.
This is what I’d also like to demonstrate for you to learn
putting Watermarks to your Video. What I’m using is software
named Virtualdub that you don’t even have to install because
it’s portable. After downloading virtualdub, extract or unzip
the file and you can just start editing a video. Virtualdub is
very sophisticated supports almost all kinds of movie file
extension whether its divx, mpeg, avs and avi.
I suggest you to convert every file to .avi because youtube or
revver.com likes this file extension. I listed free online
converters that you can use to convert those files to .avi
without even installing software.
http://www.mediaconverter.org/
http://www.zamzar.com/
http://media-convert.com/
http://online.movavi.com/
If you don’t like the results of these online converters because
it blurs the video a little, I am also recommending you to
download MediaCoder. Mediacoder is also free software and you
can download it here. This converts videos to any file extension
and is recommended for virtualdub.
You can download MediaCoder from this link:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mediacoder/
I will also be teaching you how to convert files using this
Mediacoder after demonstrating Virtualdub.
Okay. Let’s start from downloading virtualdub to actually
operating and putting watermarks to your video, compressing the
file to a tiny kb using virtualdub. Alright.
Download VirtualDub: From this url.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/virtualdub
Sourceforge.net is the best site to download free software. Most
software that’s open source can be found in sourceforge.net.
Those are always FREE and supported by large community.
Okay. Click Download to where the arrow is pointed.
See figure below.

Extract the zip file of Virtualdub:

After extracting, open the folder and all you can see are the
files here. Double click Virtualdub pointed by the arrow. See below.

At first, it will show you the GNU agreement or something like
that. You wont probably read them and I know it’s not much big
of a deal but it is for the creator of this software. So just
click OK and this pop up will appear. Also just click Start
Virtualdub

Click Start Virtualdub so we can start manipulating a video
file. Now don’t be shocked how the interface looks because I
don’t know why they made it that way. See figure below:

Preparing To Edit a Video.

Since this tutorial concentrates more on putting a watermark on
your video
, we also have to create a watermark using our ultra
sophisticated Microsoft PAINT. If you have photoshop, gimp,
corel etc… You can also use that to create whatever watermark
you’re going to put in your video.
The watermark that I’m gonna be using here is just so simple and
it’s a JPEG format. I create a watermark with my url its
ohnoareyounuts.com and it looks like this:

sample watermark

I hope you have also made your watermark. Sometimes people are
putting a 125x125 watermark but it’s just fine as long as it is
noticeable.
To start operating virtualdub, get ready with your sample video
to be uploaded in youtube.com. So open it using Virtualdub by
clicking File and Open a Video File.

You will then look for the video file, wherever you put it in
your hard drive. After opening your video file, two screens will
appear in the interface of the virtualdub. The left screen is
your current file and the right screen will be the result of the
edited video.
For now, I will assume that you have an .avi format of your
video. Take a look at the image below because that will give you
the idea how this interface will be. I have already opened my
video and it also a file extension .avi.
See figure below.

The arrow points to a thing which you can roll over the
timeframe. While moving it left and right, you can also see the
preview of the movie in the screen. Try moving it. And just try
to click those buttons there so you will have an idea what it
would do. Those last two buttons at the lower right will also be
of great help to cut and paste portions of the video. Don’t
worry. I will also note how to use those buttons after putting
the watermark
we have prepared.
Okay. You have opened the video; we will now put the watermark
in the video
. The next thing to do is to click Video and then
Filters.

Note: Make sure that it’s also in the Full Processing Mode,
especially when you’re compressing the video and audio.
After clicking Filters, a pop-up box will appear and this is for
you to add whatever you want to the movie you’re editing.
See the figure below:

The arrow points to the Add button in the right side of the box
so press it in order for the options to appear.
By clicking Add, a list of options to choose what you want to
add to the movie file you are editing. In fact, you can add
subtitles to the movie by choosing TextSub.

But since we are to add watermark, all you need to add here is a
logo, so just click logo, and then OK. See image below:

You can see that adding watermarks or logos are not the only
things you can do in virtualdub but all of those in the list.
Isn’t that great?
This is where you will manipulate the watermark that you’ll be
putting in the video file. Browse your watermark and attach it
to the movie file.

Try adjusting everything here before you click OK. Those buttons
explains it, the Justification says that the position of the
watermark for now is in the top-left of the movie screen. And so
try adjusting it by click BC or wherever you want it to be. The
Opacity is the visibility of the watermark in the movie, you can
slide it.
As for me, I adjusted my watermark in the left side of the movie
since I wanted the movie to be seen. It’s better to put your
watermarks where people will notice it. Perfect place to
advertise your URL in a video is to put it on where people see
or notice them. See figure below.

After adjusting it, click OK and another OK to finish.
Try adjusting your watermark like what I did.

You’re really done with putting a watermark and you can go to
File and Save as AVI.
