Eamcet Web Based 2009 Counselling is Dangerous: Play Caution

This year web based Eamcet counselling is very dangerous and can result in troubles as happened with AIEEE web based counselling last year. The Counselling authorities have suggested caution while choosing options during web based counselling.

New Type of Counselling having Many Options

Even before the counselling dates for Eamcet are announced, the convenors and committee chairmen of Eamcet Counselling have suggested caution for Eamcet candidates. It is an entirely different approach in a web based counselling compared to a real time counselling held in the past years. You do not have as much flexibility as you had in the past.

There are as many options to choose among colleges as 6000! It is mind boggling for an average Engineering aspirant. May be the same case for Medicine candidates as well. With the drastic change to web based counselling, Eamcet is going to become a massive testing ground for Education ministry in the country.

Thousands Lost Seats in AIEEE Web Based Counselling

Last year the web based counselling was done for AIEEE counselling. AIEEE is for all India Engg. colleges while Eamcet is for Engg. colleges in Andhra Pradesh. Due to newly implemented system of counselling as well as availability of too many options in online counselling, several candidates failed to lock the right options that would have landed them nice seats. It is reported that several thousands of candidates have lost their seats even with good ranks just because they could not understand or select the options properly.

Now with Eamcet counselling too going to web based, it is imperative to conclude that same thing will happen here. It sounds scary but I can imagine there are many students who come from rural locations and probably may not be able to prepare well for the web based counselling to lock the right options. The convenors also suggest caution when going to internet cafes for online counselling as the internet operators themselves may not have a good idea of web based counselling.

So please be careful with Eamcet counselling this year. Make sure that you decide all possible options for your course and colleges. Take your rank, category, SC/BC, minority etc. into account and plan well ahead all possible options. Then when you are online you will be able to select from a wider range increasing your chances of getting a seat allotment.

Prepare Thoroughly for Online Counselling

Don’t get scared of web based counselling. There are several sites giving good information. Read them again and again and fully understand, plan before the counselling day. Unfortunately now counselling itself has become another test after Eamcet 2009 test and weightage based ranking as well.

Need to see how the ICET 2009 counselling is going to be. I hope that it is not going to be web based as it is only delayed because of Eamcet counselling. All the best!
