CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Omni Media, Inc., the Cleveland advertising company that owns the only outdoor kiosk network in northeast Ohio, has joined with the U.S. Marshals Service to place more than a dozen advertising panels on its Cleveland kiosks to assist the U.S. Marshals Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.
Omni Media, whose 165 kiosks are strategically situated on Cleveland sidewalks, joined with the U.S. Marshals Service and Cleveland’s WKYC-Channel 3 last month to promote WKYC’s “U.S. Marshals Fugitive of the Week” segment that highlights wanted persons believed to be in the Cleveland area.
Thirteen Omni Media kiosks now hold large, western-style “WANTED” posters that feature the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Tipline, 1-866-4WANTED, and encourage viewers to tune in to the “Fugitive of the Week” segment that airs Monday nights at 11 on Channel 3 News.
“We’re a Cleveland company and we work downtown every day,” said Omni Media’s Sales Manager Sandra Gallucci. “We sincerely appreciate the work that the U.S. Marshals and local law enforcement do to keep us safe, and it’s our privilege to assist them.”
Peter J. Elliott, U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio, founded the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force in 2003 to track down the region’s most dangerous fugitives. Since its inception, the NOVFTF has captured more than 15,000 wanted persons – many of whom were apprehended after being profiled on WKYC. “Our partnership with WKYC has been very successful,” said Marshal Elliott, “and we’re definitely pleased that Omni Media has joined with us to strengthen our effort.”
Omni Media’s kiosks are three-sided and feature a wayfinding map on one panel and advertising on the other two. Omni Media partnered with the City of Cleveland in 1999 to install the kiosks and is contracted with the City through 2023 to operate the network. Omni Media regularly donates and discounts advertising space on its kiosk network to crucial government and nonprofit causes.
“We take our corporate citizenship very seriously,” Gallucci said. “Thousands of pedestrians and drivers see our kiosks each day, so we feel a special responsibility to use that visibility to assist our community.”
