craigslist: worldwide classifieds

Craiglist.org is a classifieds page which popularity has become it one of the most visited pages in the United Stated. This does not mean that the site is not used in other countries because the page itself contains categories regarding classifieds in the Americas, Asia, Europe, among other regions of the world.

First Screen

The site has not a very complex design. The main page, often called Home, is not so different compared to other classifieds, ads or directories sites. There the user can see some lists regarding different sections of the world and the respective countries which they cover. Therefore, there are columns which different tittles are Us Cities, Asia, Europe, Americas, Africa and International cities.

Once inside each of those, the screen changes and it start to show a new list for specifying the nearest region according to the side of the world in which the user lives. Then, after choosing one, it will be displayed a whole selection of categories and tools which could be interesting for the visitor.

Categories

A classifieds service cannot omit so relevant sections as jobs, housing, for sale or resumes. Craigslist is not the exception. It contains the mentioned before but there are available the following too: community, discussion forums, services and gigs. These ones fit perfectly in a virtual or online context. People often like to participate and expose their ideas and thoughts in the Internet.

Additionally, in the left side of the screen there are displayed two more tools: a calendar and a search tool. Craigslist.com is a huge page, so these last two will probably help users a lot in order to find what they need.
