Eamcet Counselling 2009 Date (Web Based) is Going to be Delayed, May be ICET too!

From the freshly released news release today, we are yet again in another round of waiting for the Eamcet 2009 Counselling dates. This also implies that ICET 2009 Counselling dates too are going to be delayed. There seem to be unexpected reasons for this.

This year Eamcet 2009 has been conducted a little later (about a week) than ICET 2009 exam. This was actually different from earlier years. It looks like from the beginning Eamcet 2009 became a delayed CET. To add to the woes it is affecting the Counselling and formal procedings of the ICET 2009 candidates. The universities are pressed upon completion of undergraduate admissions first and then post graduate admissions.

For Eamcet there are two streams. Engineering and Medicine. Thus it is even more cumbersome. I just don’t understand why they do not start ICET counselling first and later do the EAMCET counselling. For ICET too, there are two streams. MBA and MCA. But the number of candidates here is lesser and easily manageable.

Why are Eamcet and ICET Counselling Getting Delayed?

Today a fresh news has surfaced from the APSCHE secretary MD Christopher. As I mentioned earlier Eamcet counselling dates will be announced today or tomorrow once the new Fee structure for it are declared. But he says that a meeting between Fee Regulatory Committee and the APSCHE has not happened. Due to this the Fee structure for Eamcet counselling is not decided. Without this there is no question of announcing counselling dates.

Probably Eamcet 2009 counselling dates might just get delayed by a week. Let us hope that it is only a week. But the reality does not seem to be any better. The counselling of ICET 2009 now almost went into the backburner. I don’t know what all these education ministers and other divisional are doing. They just cannot ignore students like this.

Another Problem for Counselling

Just around the corner there seems to be another problem particularly for Eamcet Counselling. Every year AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) approves any new colleges for admitting students through Eamcet. But this year it too got delayed. Till now there is no news from them about any new college approvals. These college approvals are needed considering the growing number of students writing Eamcet this year.

Eamcet Chairman DN Reddy says that we cannot start counselling without these approval notification. If we start then any new college that is approved for admission cannot be done counselling for just their sake. So they will just lose one year. This is now a deadlock and everything seems to be in a complete mess.

Let us hope that this mess clears up soon. Unwantedly this is also having a cascaded effect on ICET Counselling which should have already happened by now!
