With istockphoto anyone can apply to become a photographer. You will be asked for 3 sample images, and they will be reviewed by their inspection team. They will let you know their decision via email. How much do you make at istockphoto? The royalty structure is 20%. If you qualify for exclusivity, then you can make up to 40%.
Shutterstock.com
What makes shutterstock.com different from the other sites is that their buyers subscribe on a monthly service. Who subscribes from shutterstock? Web designers and magazine editors are examples of people who would subscribe to download photos. The buyers can download as much as 750 images for 30 days. Shutterstock pays you 25 cents every time your image is downloaded. When your earnings reach $500, your commission becomes 30 cents per download. If you refer other submitters, then you earn 3 cents each of their downloads. Shutterstock offers a good opportunity to earn some extra money.

Fotolia is one of the most popular stock websites as well. If you want to become a Fotolia contributor, you may create an account and submit photos for Fotolia to review. Before you can upload images, they require you to complete their online training . After you have completed the training then you can upload your images to Fotolia. The images will be sent to their editors for review. They will notify you if your images have been accepted.
Bigstockphotos.com
How to sell images and photos in bigstockphotos.com: you will also need to sign in for an account (which is also free). Then read the Photographer Tutorial pages. If you pass the Photographer test then you will be able to upload your photos. Your photos will be reviewed by their editors. When your photos are approved, then they will be added to bigstockphotos.com. Every time users download your photo, you earn 50 cents per credit spent.
Stockxpert.com
How to sell images and photos in stockxpert.com: First step is to sign up to become a seller. When your application has been approved then you can start uploading your photos and images. They will reviewed by their group or reviewers. Stockxpert.com pays you 50% commission for every download. They pay via Paypal and Moneybookers.
Dreamstime.com
You can apply to sell in Dreamstime by registering and uploading your first files. If your photos are approved, you will see them on your personal account. If they are not approved, they will notify you via email. They will notify you the reason why your photo was not approved, with/or suggestions for improvement. After you have solved the problem, you can upload them again. Dreamstime has 5 levels of payment, in which the more downloads your photos get, the higher level it goes to, and the higher payment you get. Pls. visit the dreamstime website for more information. Below is a snapshot of what a photographer receives whenever a user downloads a royalty-free image. Dreamstime provides a great earning potential.

Microstockphoto.com
All uploaded images to Microstockphoto.com must be a minimum of 1600 x 1200 pixels, which is approximately 2 MP. They pay 35% commission for every image that is downloaded by the user, or 0.25 for every image downloaded as part of a subscription. Images must be in jpg format at the highest quality compression and no higher than 8 MB if possible. All you have to do is sign up and upload your photos. There is no cost – signing up and uploading are free. After you upload your photos Microstockphoto will handle the rest (sales, promotion, customer support). Currently they pay via PayPal. Microstockphoto is a great way to earn extra money.
Shutterpoint.com
Anyone can become a member on Shutterpoint.com. They have a batch upload tool which makes it easy to upload many images at one. Shutterpoint offers 85% for full royalty-free license and 70% for standard royalty-free license. They pay via Paypal. In Shutterpoint you can have your own image store-front to showcase and sell your photo albums to the world. You also have your own pro-style sub domain (http://USERNAME.shutterpoint.com). You can also earn commissions for referring new photo buyers or photographers.
