At one point in every teenager life, they truly believed that they were allergic to chocolate and that it caused they acne breakouts. The sad thing is that belief in the myths can be devastating, in that proper treatment is avoided, and lifestyle changes that don't need to be made can take away pleasure unnecessarily.

At one point in every teenager life, they truly believed that they were allergic to chocolate and that it caused they acne breakouts.  Whenever they would succumb to the temptation and have "just a little" they would stress out waiting for the red spots, and sure enough they would appear.  The sad thing is that belief in the myths can be devastating, in that proper treatment is avoided, and lifestyle changes that don't need to be made can take away pleasure unnecessarily.

One of the pushing forces that may cause the occurrence of acne includes the elevation of levels of testosterone among adolescents. No, it's not Toblerone misspelled. One thing that is known though, acne is not caused by eating too much chocolate as was sometimes said to be the case. No matter how many anecdotes you've heard about chocolate addiction causing zits to dominate your face, there's really no enough scientific basis to prove this. Testosterone is a chemical produced by the body that increase sebum production and change the keratin of the hair follicles. Testosterone is an androgen. Androgen is a hormone produced in high levels among males. This is the reason behind the worse cases of acne among teenage boys more than girls.

People often blame chocolates and greasy foods but foods seem to have little effect on the development and course of acne in most people. Dirty skin is as well believed to cause the skin disorder; however, blackheads and other acne lesions are not caused by dirt. Lastly, stress does not cause acne. Obviously, there are several factors that can make the acne worse. Soft drinks, chocolate and greasy foods like French fries and pizza have often been blamed, but recent medical research shows that foods seem to have little effect on the development or the course of acne.

While some think that their problem of acne is aggravated from the foods they consume (like the chocolate, drinks, fat oysters and foods), there are no scientific tests that demonstrate this being true. However it is not a mistake to avoid the fatter foods, but a focused and well-applied adult acne treatment is also necessary in order to get rid of this annoying condition.

Knowing what triggers your breakouts can be the difference between constant battles and healthy skin.  The Internet is a wonderful place to get the information you need, so stop stressing out and learn what it takes to put your best face forward.
