How to Make Herbal Bath Vinegars
Here's how to make an all-natural herbal vinegar bath to soften the skin.
A natural herbal vinegar bath is an excellent way to soothe and soften your skin while softening your bath water. A vinegar bath is also said to be a way to restore the correct acid-base balance to your body if your body is too acidic. A natural herbal vinegar bath can also be helpful in reducing foot odor and preventing vaginal infections in women by restoring the proper pH to the area. In the summer, it can also relieve some of the pain and irritation of a sunburn. Here's how to create your own herbal bath vinegar at home:
Prepare your herbs.
You can use either fresh of dried herbs that have been cut into small segments. Mix about two cups of your chosen herbs. To determine which herbs are right for your particular bath, read up on the medicinal and healing properties of different herb mixtures. A good combination for nourishing the skin is equal proportions of comfrey, yarrow, and calendula. This makes a nice all purpose group of herbs to add to your herbal vinegar bath.
Prepare your apple cider vinegar for your herbs.
Find a pot large enough to hold at least a liter and a half of fluid. Add about a litter of organic apple cider vinegar to the pot. Heat the apple cider vinegar until it's boiling.
Combine your apple cider vinegar and herbs.
Carefully pour the hot vinegar mixture over your freshly prepared herbs. Cover the top of the container containing your hot vinegar solution with a clear sealant such as a cling wrap.
Allow your herbal vinegar bath to age.
Set your sealed container in front of a window where it can benefit the heat of the direct sun. Allow it to develop for a period of ten days to 2 weeks before using. Periodically agitate the container to allow thorough mixing.
Strain your herbal vinegar bath.
Use a strainer to strain your mature mixture to separate out any remaining herbal debris.
Package your herbal vinegar bath.
Find some pretty bottles to store your natural herbal vinegar bath solution until you're ready to use them or gives them as gifts.
To use your herbal vinegar bath in your bath water, add around a cup of the mixture to your bath water and enjoy. When you emerge, you should feel refreshed and invigorated with soft, smooth skin.
You'll find an all natural herbal vinegar bath to be a healthy alternative to the commercial bath products on the market with their array of unhealthy, synthetic chemicals. Why not give one a try?
