How to Make Herbal Bath Bags
Are you tired of using overpriced bath oils that contain synthetic chemicals? Here's how to make your own all natural, soothing, herbal bath bags.
Doesn't it feel good to relax in a sea of fragrant water? Why take an ordinary bath when you can enjoy an all natural herbal bath. Herbal bath bags can turn a garden variety bath into a feast for the senses. Plus, when you add herbs to your bath water in place of store bought bath oils and powders, you avoid potentially unhealthy synthetic chemicals. You might be surprised to learn how easy it is to make natural herbal bath bags at home. Here's an easy way to make your own herbal bath bags:
Create a quick drawstring bag.
You can use scrap muslin or cheesecloth to make prepare a drawstring bag to hold your herbs. To do this, cut a piece of material around 10 x 4 inches. Fold your cloth in half with the printed portion of the material on the inside. Sew the edges of the material on both sides. You should be left with the top portion open. Turn the bag inside out to expose the pattern. If you don't want to make your own bags, you can usually find drawstring bags at your local craft store.
Fill your newly created herbal bath bag with herbs.
You can choose from an endless combination of herbs to fill your natural herbal bath bags. For relaxation, try a mixture of lavender, lemon balm, and chamomile. For energy, create a mixture of peppermint, rosemary, thyme, and fennel. Read up on different herbal combinations and their healing effects to create a herbal formula that meets your needs.
You can also add oatmeal or powdered milk to nourish and soothe your skin.
Close off your herbal bath bag.
Use a pretty ribbon to tie off your herbal bath bag. If you leave a loop at the top, you can hang your herbal bath bag from the faucet so it can release its contents when you run your bath water. You can also drop your bag into your bath water to circulate when you bathe.
Enjoy a rejuvenating herbal bath.
Hang your bath bag form the faucet and draw a warm bath. Climb in and enjoy the healing power of your herbs. You'll emerge refreshed and free of stress. After your bath, empty your bag of the used herbs and store it along with your herbs in preparation for your next bath time.
A natural herbal bath bag will not only soothe your nerves and your skin, it will make bath time a pleasurable experience your can look forward to.
