Fisher Price Little People Fire Truck Ride on Review
My personal review of the Fisher Price Little People Fire Truck Ride On for toddlers
The Fisher Price Little People Fire Truck Ride On is an excellent toy for toddlers. My 1-year-old son received his fire truck for Christmas last year, and he still loves it. It's a small ride-on truck, just the right size for a 1- or 2-year-old child. It's the kind of truck he can push himself along with his feet, both forward and backward, and stear the front wheels with small handlebars.
This truck is very sturdy. My boy is very strong and active, so the truck has been through quite a lot. While it could probably be used outdoors, my son has only rode the truck inside so far. It's sturdy enough to hold his older six year old sister as well.
The seat opens up, so there's room to store little toys inside, or little tools (however, it doesn't come with any.) It opens up easily enough for a one year old, and so far, he hasn't squished his little fingers in the seat, which I had been somewhat worried about when he first got it.
There's a button to push, which plays a song and makes the blue and red lights flash. Two dalmatians with fire hats that sit in the front seat of the truck turn side to side when the song comes on. The button is easy for the baby to push, which is nice. With some toys I find it annoying that the buttons are too hard for smaller children to use, and then Mommy has to do it, which isn't fun for me or him. The music and the song are extremely obnoxious for me and the rest of the big people in the house, however.
It goes: "I see a fire truck, a big red shiny fire truck. I see a fire truck, coming down the street." While this might seem rather harmless, you really need to experience this, repeatedly for twenty minutes at a time, to understand the full effect. It isn't very loud, though, which is a bonus for Mom and Dad. When it's battery runs out (and it's already been 4 months, so hopefully it will be soon) I'll probably NOT replace it.
My son's still young enough that he' doesn't understand the concept of batteries, just that it's "broken". I'll have to act all sad that his toy doesn't work, and he'll forget about it in a couple of days. Mean, possibly, but it's for the sake of my sanity, which is ultimately a benefit to him.
My son loves his truck , however, and that is the most important factor. It is one of his favorite toys, and plays with it daily, driving it around the living room, or using it to stand on so he can see out the window until Mommy catches him and makes him get down.
My son's Fisher Price Little People Fire Truck Ride On was a present from his grandparents, so I wasn't the one who purchased the truck. I did look the price up on line, however, and it sells for $29.99 at Target. That seems like a pretty good deal to me, and I would recomend this toy to anyone with a toddler. And a good set of earplugs.
