When tenderizing meats you can also take the opportunity to add lots of flavor. These quick recipes and tips will show you how.

You can make any cut of meat a little more tender and why not add some flavor while doing it.  Here are some wonderful ways to do it.

To tenderize meats you can use marinades of course but you can also use pastes to do the triick.

Tip One:  Paste

To make a nicely flavored garlic paste place the following in a blender:  1 pound garlic, 1 teaspoon of sea salt.  Blend until it becomes a smooth mixture.  Then slowly add in   cup extra virgin olive oil a bit at a time.

To use this mixture simply spread it all over what ever meat you are wishing to tenderize.  Leave the mixture on when grilling, baking, frying, or boiling.

This mixture will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1 month, so you can make it once and use a few times. To add extra flavor place a little fresh dill in the mixture just before spreading.

Tip 2:  Super Easy

This trick is super easy and works fantastically.  Simply place your meat in a marinating pan or a plastic zip lock bag, and pour in as much prepared Italian salad dressing as is needed to coat meat and allow it to sit in the fridge for 2 to 4 hours or longer if you like.  This is great on chicken to.

Tip 3: Balsamic Marinade

This is a great marinade for those on sodium restricted diets.

1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

1/2 cup cider vinegar

1/4 cup apple sauce

2 tablespoons pressed garlic

2 tablespoons dijon mustard

1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley leaves or dried

1 cup olive oil

In a glass bowl combine all of the ingredients except the olive oil.  Then gradually add the olive oil while using a wire wisk to wisk the ingredients.  Continue till marinade is well blended.  Place meat in the marinade and allow to sit in refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or up to 8 hours.
