We all know that CPR have save a thousand lives already. It has increased the chances of survival among the victims of cardiac arrest may it be caused by heart attack, drowning, electrocution and other life threatening emergencies.

Though the procedure has been introduce long time ago and has been part in the safety protocol and safety awareness from almost any company, hospital or events, a lot of people are still hesitant to perform such procedure.

One of the factor that is considered an obstacle is the application of mouth to mouth to victim. This often discourages people in doing CPR since we always have this fear of acquiring diseases.

Now, a new guidelines has been issued with respect to CPR. The application of Hands Only CPR to victims. This has been proven to be effective since in the first few minutes of cardiac arrest, oxygen is still present in the blood. The only problem is that the blood is not circulated due to the absence of the heart's contraction.

By performing Hands Only CPR, blood will be circulated and therefore the brain will be supplied toward the brain allowing it to survive until EMS arrives.

Although this procedure is only advisable to persons who have no proper medical training, the layperson. For healthcare providers, providing compression and ventilation is still the priority.
But at least this development will certainly give other people the willingness to provide CPR without the fear of contracting diseases.
