Tired of waiting for the school to hand out your mark sheets? Find out your 10 and 12 class board results online.

The years of schooling that a child goes through comes down to the nail biting finish of the declaration of the 10th and 12th class CBSE board exam results. I thought I had left it all behind me, but now I find the next generation going through what I did just about a decade or so ago.

Going to the school and getting the formal result sheets take time. Now days the students have the option of getting the marks and results online. If you are also among the many thousands eagerly awaiting your CBSE results here is the site you can check it out on. The Indian Results Portal. In case you want to check out the results of other state boards, you can do so as well.

In fact one Internet Cafe owner has registered on the site and is checking results for half a class as we speak. So if you find the site a bit slow, remember there are so many eager young souls trying to get a peek of their future as well. Another site giving the results online is that of CBSE itself. Official CBSE site.

While I wish that the Indian System was not so dependant on marks and ranks the sheer magnitude of the competition scares me. I thought that the competition was tough ten years ago, but today it is sheer madness. The pressure on the students is phenomenal. Nothing short of 90% will do. If I had to give my boards today, I feel I would flunk.

Then I sit back and wonder what the situation will be like in another decade? That is when my four year old will be eligible to tackle the CBSE 10th board. I know I should be worried, but the mere though is making me smile. I know I'm not going to be one of those mothers who knows the child's exam syllabus better than the child. At the same time I hope that the education system has changed some what by then.

The parallel International Schools that have begun mushrooming in the country are giving the CBSE a run for its money. Many parents prefer sending their kids to these low stress, play way method schools. Specially since now that can appear for their O levels and A levels and get admissions in good colleges abroad. If the CBSE wants to lose students at an alarming rate they can carry on the way that they are right now
