has a wedding band or engagement ring lost their meaning

In history, there was an unspoken truth that an engagement ring meant the promise of a live time together. The wedding ring was the action that sealed that promise. Promises are words but the action is the ring, which happens in most cases after a couple marries.

While listening to music as I sit here and write today, the song ‘Cheater, Cheater’ by Joey and Rory came on the internet radio station. I love the song do not get me wrong, I feel that she was reading my mind when she sang that song. In my case it happened in 2005, and did not happen in a bar named Ernie’s but my ex’s other woman did flip her hair.

Is it me or is this cheating business going on a lot more than it used too? I guess a wedding band or engagement ring does not mean anything anymore, so many ignore it and what it represents.

This got me thinking about this whole engagement and wedding ring business. Does a wedding band or engagement ring have the same value it did twenty years ago? I feel that you do not need to have a wedding band in order to feel married, but sometimes it helps to keep others away. It also allows some people to feel as if they are marriage material, and not something to pass years.

Some people in society who want sex with no strings will target those people who wear a wedding band for the thrill of it. Yes, there have always been those who have ignored any type of rings. It seems to me that it is out of control in this world these days. How many marriages or engagements have been broken because of cheating do you know of?

When there is a ring on a finger do not take another to your bed, simple as that. Even if that ring is not there, but you know that person is living with someone else in an arrangement, cheaters need to stay out.

Many people of both sexes forget this simple reality. A cheater is too interested in being selfish in their needs and do simply not care that they hurt as long as they are happy.

No ring no problem sex between consenting adults in not against the moral or civil laws on the books. However, that ring is supposed to mean something in today’s world. It is a lifetime promise, to be faithful and true.

There are exceptions to the rings but they are action based. Granted many people who live together do not have a ring and that is fine, as it is actions and not simply words. They have committed to each other ring or not, they sealed that promise by an undeniable action. They do not need a paper to show that they are faithful and their love is true

I know many couples like this who simple live together, the world knows they are together and both remain true unto each other. I have known a few couples personally who have lived together for fifteen to twenty years and they never needed a paper or rings. In their hearts, they know the wedding band is there in their hearts.

A wedding ring, real or implied is a promise to support each other emotionally and in everyway possible. It is supposed to be better than promise. Yet there are those among us who choose to break the reality, and it seems as if it is happening more often.
