It is a global screenwriting contest that offers its lucky winners large cash prizes as well as a chance to meet with reputable Hollywood executives about their film. The Big Break contest charges an entry free, one for standard entries and one for extended deadline entries. This year’s contest offers over $30,000 in cash and prizes.

Standard entry fee: $50

Extended deadline entry fee: $65

 2) The FOX-PGP-NYTVF Comedy Script Contest offers amateur sitcom writers a chance to submit their best script for an original half-hour comedy series. The winner will receive a development deal with the Fox network as well as $25,000 in prize money. The winning script will be looked at by Proctor & Gamble Productions, who will have the chance to turn it into a network pilot. Fox has also agreed to take a first look at up to 25 finalist scripts. The submission period begins on June 1st and closes on June 15th. Only the first 1,500 entries will be received. The contest does not charge a fee to enter a script.
