Choosing the right site furniture can help to enhance and bring together an outside space.

We see site furniture in our lives every day.  We see it on public streets, in our parks, in plazas and in front of businesses.  But what is it?

Site furniture is the industry term for the benches, tables, chairs, trash or ash receptacles, planters, bollards, bike racks and more that you find in outdoor spaces.  It is public furniture.

Quality site furniture combines aesthetics and durability to make a lasting product that enhances its setting.  The aesthetics can complement that natural surrounding or often times it can blend right in and seem like it belongs there.  Site furniture needs to be durable to withstand the elements of being outdoors though all kinds of weather.  It also needs to be able to withstand years of use from people.

Site furniture helps to give a public space a purpose.  Park benches or tables invite the public to sit down, to have lunch, to take a break.  It can give the public a reason to congregate, or it can just give them a place to rest for a minute.

Site furniture can also provide safety.  Lighted bollards help to light walkways and to direct traffic.  Bike racks help to keep your bicycle safe and secure.

Choosing the right site furniture can help to enhance an outdoor space aesthetically, it can help to provide a place to gather or to give a space a purpose, and it can help to protect and guide the flow of traffic.
