There are many ways of showing we care. This article gives the three C's of it, which are courage, compassion and concern. .

This article gives the three C's of true caring. We need courage, compassion and concern to genuinely care.

  • Courage

Where can we be without courage? It's not only physical bravery, but the ability to stand up for what is right, just and true. It is so easy to float with the stream of public opinion even if we believe it to be wrong. When gossip is repeated, it takes courage to stop the flow and instead, to believe the best of our fellow human beings.

  • Compassion

How compassionate are we? Every time I think of this word, it is always the parable of the Good Samaritan in the Bible that comes to mind. In this world of too much individualism - the me, the I, and myself - we seem not to really bother unless it's an immediate relative or loved one in danger. We can bring consolation to those who suffer, comfort to the bereaved, and help the needy, one way or another. And perhaps sincerely mean when we say "How are you?" or "How are you feeling, can I help?"

  • Concern

All great men and women who have helped to make life better for others have been motivated by compassion, which has led to concern. It was genuine concern that prompted the great reformers and pioneers of earlier times, as well as people like Florence Nightingale, David Livingstone, and Mother Teresa. There are also others today who are working for the poor and deprived, giving up their own family comforts. We may not necessary be like them but in our simple way, we can always do something, like volunteer for a good cause, if we care enough to be concern.
