The iCarly show featured a new video game called Pak-Rat. Here is how to play Pak-Rat and why it is very similar to Pac Man.

Fans of iCarly have just discovered a new video game called Pak-Rat. In the show, Carly had to intervene when Spencer became addicted to the video game Pak-Rat. Spencer was set on beating Sasha Striker's Pak-Rat record. Sasha came out of retirement in order to defend her title. She scored 1,322,000 points. You can watch Barry's report for The Video Game Channel at http://www.iCarly.com. I will not spoil the ending and tell you who won.

Pak-Rat is a video game that is incredibly similar the Pac-Man video game of 1980's. In the game, the player is a rat that eats its way through a maze of cheese. As the rat, you need to avoid the Pak-Rat cats. The cats will chase and eat the rat. If you eat the larger cheese wedges, then the Pak-Rat cats will turn white and the rat can gobble up the cats.

There are seven large cheese wedges per level. This makes it easier to clear the smaller cheese wedges from the maze. But be aware: when the Pak-Rat cats start blinking, they are becoming dangerous again and can then eat your Pak-Rat rat.

The Pak-Rat player uses the arrow keys to control the rat. Once you clear the board of all the cheese wedges, you can progress to the next level. You get three Pak-Rat rats per game.

Fans of the iCarly show can play the game at http://www.iCarly.com. You can choose to play with one player or two players. Players alternate turns with the two player game. Challenge yourself to beat Sasha Striker's record.

The comparison of Pak-Rat to Pac-Man is almost identical. In Pac-Man you play with a yellow chomping circle and run away from ghosts. There are four ghost in Pac-Man and four cats in Pak-Rat. The ghosts in Pac-Man are named Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde.

In Pac-Man, the player can eat power pellets in order to make the ghosts edible. In Pak-Rat the player can eat large cheese wedges in order to eat the cats. One big difference is that there are seven large cheese wedges in Pak-Rat compared to only four power pellets in Pac-Man.

The player loses a life if the Pak-Rat cat touches the Pak-Rat rat. This is the same fate of Pac-Man when he encounters one of the ghosts.

The game introduced on the iCarly show is a reinvention of a famous video game of yesteryear. Challenge your parents to a game of Pak-Rat and I can guarantee that you will have a challenging game on your hands. You will be fighting your parents for the computer. Pac-Man was addicting and Pak-Rat is just as much fun.
