NBA title contenders!!

The NBA season just finished its first calendar month! Here are some lockdown teams in the East to dominate the regular season and the playoffs this year!

Boston Celtics -- as Rudy Tomjanovich once said "Never underestimate the heart of a champion" and this holds true for the Celtics! They are the defending champion and they look like it in every aspect of the game. The only concern here is the aging of their "Big Three" in KG, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen but still they should be a lock to perform well deep into the playoffs. Cleveland Cavaliers -- Any team with King James on the floor can always compete with the best of them. He has propelled the Cavaliers to un-chartered territory with the clubs best record to open the season in their history. Add some key players like the acquisition of Mo Williams and the emergence of Deleonte West off the bench then you have a team primed for success!

Orlando Magic -- I dropped the Pistons in favor of the Magic for two reasons. The Chauncey Billups trade which diminishes Detroit's playmaking ability and his leadership will be missed. Also, the fact that the Magic have slowly showed that they are capable of playing the best in the NBA with smothering defense and accurate three point shots. Howard has turned into a beast for them now so its scary how good this team will look in the future.
