Ever wondered why your partner doesn't get it? This article has some answers.

The best time to figure out how to communicate with each other is when the two of you are enjoying each other's company. The worst time to try communicating is when one or both parties is upset. It's best to wait, no matter how bad you want to vent. You should discuss more of what you like about the other person. Telling them your perspective of their problems is only telling them in one form, that you don't like them. Always keep in mind that every fiber of their being as well as yours has been influenced by experiences in life, so there are NO facts in what's right and wrong. It's called morals; in other words, what you or they believe is right and wrong. Don't get that confused with fact and fiction. Accept that no matter how much two people have in common, whether a sibling, parent, or partner, that there are far more differences that are unseen. Relationships of any kind are a constant getting to know you. Also, accept that you will never know everything. Besides, the day you think you do, the connection ends. The symbol of an everlasting relationship is a circle for a reason. It's a continual bond that will never end, so you don't want to walk a straight line, or the connection ends. If you find yourself walking in circles, think of it as a good thing. Finally, always make the other person feel important to you. Make them smile. Respect is about making the other person feel worthy. Remember you can Never take back the word once it's spoken, so take a minute, hour, or day to think of what to say. Never leave angry!
